Last Weekend of Riding During Blue Mountain’s Record Setting Season – Last Day is Sunday, April 28th

Blue Mountain prepares to close out its latest ski and snowboard season ever on Sunday, April 28, 2013. The Resort plans to keep the Silver Bullet chairlift and key trails open through Sunday and then close winter operations for the season. The extended season is a record for Blue Mountain. The latest closing date was previously April 24th – set during the 2010/11 season.

This weekend also marks a rare occasion in Ontario, as Blue Mountain opens Monterra Golf Saturday, April 27 & Saturday, April 28. Guests can hit the fairways in the morning and the slopes in the afternoon!

The Ski & Golf offer is available all weekend long, weather permitting: $68 (+HST) and includes one round of golf at Monterra (cart included) and one lift ticket. To reserve your tee time, please call 705.445.0231 or visit www.bluemountain.ca

Blue Mountain is the last resort standing in Ontario and has been open almost a month longer than any other public ski and snowboard resort in the province.  Join us this weekend and don’t miss the last chance to ski and snowboard in Ontario this season!

Here are a few highlights from the year that was at Blue Mountain Resort:
·         November 2012: Blue Mountain completed the installation of new snowmaking upgrades that improved the Resort’s ability to make more snow at warmer temperate and further solidified its snowmaking system as the largest and most powerful in Canada.  Blue Mountain will make similar investments during the 2013 summer.
·         February 1-2, 2013: Blue Mountain hosted the FIS Snowboard Cross World Cup event. Spectators cheered on the Canadian team as they took home the Gold Medal in the men’s event.
·         February 17, 2013: Blue Mountain announced the $10-million terrain expansion of the Orchard area for the 2013/14 winter season.  The expansion provides skiers/snowboarders with six new trails, 64 acres of new terrain and a new 6-person, high-speed chairlift.
·         April 25, 2013: The Resort set a record for the latest day of skiing/snowboarding ever at Blue Mountain, surpassing the previous record of April 24th set in 2010/11.
Blue Mountain would like to thank all the winter enthusiasts who enjoyed the slopes this winter.  Summer is right around the corner and the Resort invites you to experience the green season at Blue Mountain. Take in the many attractions now offered on the Resort, including the Timber Challenge Ropes Course, Ridge Runner Mountain Coaster, Mountaintop Segway Tours and new this season: Wind Rider Triple Zips (opening July, 2013).

Blue Mountain Remains Open Seven Days a Week

It’s an extended ski and snowboard season at Blue Mountain Resort.  The resort remains the only public mountain in Southern Ontario open seven days a week - and we’re proud to announce that we passed the 120 ski day mark for the season! Blue Mountain has great spring rates with $29 adult and $19 youth/senior lift tickets.  Our average base across open terrain remains more than 100 cm (#GoWhereTheSnowIs!)

We plan to open more terrain for the weekend; however, trail counts remain weather and conditions dependent and vary each day. Please visit our conditions page for daily updates:  http://www.bluemountain.ca/conditions_snow_report.htm

Note: A closing date has not been set and we will keep key trails open as long as possible.
